ESMA publishes latest edition of its newsletter
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has today published its latest edition of its Spotlight on Markets Newsletter.
Your one-stop-shop in the world of EU financial markets focuses this month on our new Chair, Verena Ross, and on the EU-wide campaign on investment recommendations on social media.
This week, we were happy to welcome Verena Ross on her first day as the new Chair of ESMA. She starts a five-year term, renewable once, in a time when ESMA embarks on a new chapter with more supervisory powers and focus on sustainable finance, digitalisation, and Capital Markets Union.
ESMA’s Statement on Investment Recommendations on social media explains the rules that apply in situations where someone spreads information proposing an investment decision about EU financial instruments (e.g. stocks or bonds) aimed at a broad audience. Do you use social platforms to talk about investments and trading? Press release and visuals here.
